[ Sure, he can assume the bottles are, like, oils or conditioners or what-have-you, but he means what's the signature scent here? Is he gonna come out of this smelling like flowers or like sandalwood. ]
Something I'm hoping won't cause an allergic reaction. [ Hard to say if Peter's kidding or not because his face doesn't change a beat when he re-checks the labels in his hand. ]This place likes to sneak in aphrodisiacs any chance they get.
[ Popping the top of one bottle, he dribbles a little in his hand. When there's no internal reaction he takes a seat by Jeff. ] Kinda citrusy. That all right?
[ Jeff's brows lift at the mention of aphrodisiacs, much more
apprehensive than intrigued by that prospect, but he quickly moves past it
when Peter asks his question. ]
Sounds good. I'm easy. [ A beat. ] Okay, that sounded like a
cheap come-on, but I think we're past the point of worrying about that kind
of thing.
[ Though Jeff is an OLYMPIC LEVEL WORRIER. He lets his gaze linger
on the man next to him, before clearing his throat and adding: ]
So. How do we... I mean, I know how baths work, just-- do you want
me to turn around or...?
That's all right. Easy's just fine. [ He keeps his voice light, hoping to abate Jeff's fears. But as to the man's question, Peter needs a moment to consider. ]
Well, [ He pulls Jeff's arm out of the water, keeping a gentle hold around his wrist. ] like this will work. Or, I can make room for you...
[ Then Peter adjusts his seat on the step, moving back to make room for a second body between his legs. Either works for Peter, he's not picky. ]
[ His smile returns, warm as he relaxes a little. Any anxiousness calms when Peter takes his wrist, and when the other man shifts to accommodate him, he takes him up on the offer, settling between his legs. It's at once more intimate and comfortably anonymous, bodies touching, warm and solid, without needing to hold eye contact throughout.
Not that he has a problem with eye contact on principle, but it's occurring to Jeff that they hardly know each other, and this is so intimate, that maybe the little barrier of turning around will keep things from getting awkward.
He leans his head back, against the other man, looking up at him with a sunny grin. ]
[ Looks like. He returns the smile, but his eyes narrow just a little. ] You must get away with murder with that face.
[ And likely Peter will fall victim to it, too. What a terrible demise, huh? It's with that warm thought he is spurred into action, spreading soapy hands along the man's shoulders and down his neck since all he can really reach right now is his front. ]
[ He laughs, light and musical, and maybe there's some ghost of the boy he used to be shining through. The kid who could've had everything, once upon a time.
But then he seems to sober a little, the ghost fading away as he shuts his eyes and hums softly under Peter's touch. ]
It's gotten me out of trouble a time or two. Probably gotten me in trouble, too.
[ Opening his eyes again, he looks up at the other man with genuine curiosity. ]
What about you? You seem like a guy who's never had a problem handling trouble.
Best way to handle it's not to go looking. [ His youth was troublesome enough. After that a simple life was all the trouble he wished for. ] But with my job that's not always possible.
[ Now, to fabricate the perfect, believable lie. ]
Sometimes you have to wrestle an elk to the ground during mating season.
Hard to say. [ HA HAHAHA eat it up, Jeff. ] I didn't wait to find out. I grabbed him by his antlers, so I could stay in control of his head. Then, once I was in position, I used my weight to drag him down off his feet. Once they're down, it's hard for them to get back up. Their legs are so thin.
[ It gets harder and harder to keep a straight face with every new thought he spits out as truth. But he's doin' pretty good! ]
[ Peter responds with a noncommittal hum, keeping his attention undivided on Jeff's body. He's free to think whatever he wants; it's not like that evil he's bitching about is scaring the man away.
So, instead of encouraging this behavior, Peter changes tactics by pouring out a dollop of the fairy equivalent of shampoo in his hands and lathering up his short dark hair. He lets the pads of his fingers massage back and forth along his scalp and down his neck. hen they move back up, scrubbing over where they left off. ]
[ Peter's tactic is a winning one-- though, to be fair, Jeff's so easily distracted that Peter also could've diverted his attention by just pointing to the fireflies, but. Shh.
Jeff practically goes pliant under his touch, dipping his head down a little to give Peter ample access to his neck and hair. And he's definitely receptive to it, judging by the soft exhale of breath, the way his shoulders relax. Now there's less of that odd, slightly awkward awareness of the fact that they're practically strangers and they're already naked and bathing together, underscoring everything. As Peter scrubs his fingers through his hair, Jeff's reaching down to settle his hands on the other man's knees, sliding back, up his thighs, getting nice and familiar in his exploration.

Because even when he's being pampered, he can barely sit still, it seems. ]
[ Hey, at least he's quiet now. Peter doesn't have to think three steps ahead anymore; he can enjoy the quiet and the view with Jeff. Although, with the way he's fidgeting, that might not be a very long stretch. ]
Lift an arm up for me. [ Once he does as he's told, Peter covers all that lean muscle in frothy suds all the way down to his fingers. ]
[ To Jeff's credit, he can at least follow directions. For as fidgety and chatty as he is, there's a natural sort of willingness to listen. It's not submission, exactly, so much as a people pleasing nature. Kind of like a puppy.
He's a six foot tall puppy.
And look, even as he's lifting his arm and letting the other man explore his body as if it belongs to him, he looks back at Peter like he's about to say something...
Then actually keeps quiet! Look, Jeff's learning.

[ It's so unfair to switch gears like that while he's still all happy brain-foggy from kissing! In fact, Jeff has to take a few seconds to process what Peter's saying, blinking, looking perplexed, before it clicks and he lets out a laugh. ]

[ he's just gonna run a hand through his hair, gathering some nice soapy suds, and then drags his fingers through the other man's hair. Is it hygienic to transfer used shampoo like that? WHO CARES. Not like they're not gonna rinse off soon anyway. ]
[ Peter puts up no resistance, that is until Jeff is done with his unconventional attack. Time for retaliation! A big hand envelopes Jeff's handsome dumb face and pushes him off his lap and into the water.
[ Wow, so mean!! Jeff tumbles back into the water and reemerges, sputtering and wiping water from his face. But hey, he takes the BRUTAL ATTACK with good humor, laughing and smiling. ]
